THE STORY

Knox Brewtails brings mixologists and breweries together for a friendly competition to make the best beer-based cocktail. It’s a marriage of the craft cocktails and craft breweries that benefits American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

A total of 11 teams compete in the challenge that will name a winner in a live-judged contest. Each brewery/bartender pairing will develop a unique craft beer cocktail to be presented at the event. The panel of judges decides which brewtail is the best based on appearance, ingredients, flavor, garnish and overall creativity.

Past entries have included tiki drinks, beer-and-Scotch combinations and plenty of tasty surprises. What these contestants come up with ranges from spicy to sweet and just about everything else in between. It’s a highlight for both the craft beer and craft cocktail worlds in Knoxville that benefits charity.

THE EVENT

Come to The Press Room on Oct. 14 to sample the cocktails created by the 11 teams participating and help name the People’s Choice Award winner! There will be food trucks on site and Zack Roskop of Knox Brew Tours will be our Emcee and DJ for the event.

The event is a cocktail competition, so only people ages 21+ can purchase tickets and attend. Attendees will need a valid government-issued ID to gain entry along with their tickets. Designated driver passes are available at the door for a suggested $10 donation to the nonprofit American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
